APPOINTMENTS
Telephone our appointments lines: 01384 444259/444260 to book an appointment. The appointment lines are open Monday to Friday 8.30am - 12 noon and 2.00 - 6.00pm.
• Urgent cases are seen on the day.
• If your condition is non-urgent you can expect to see a GP within two working days, though you
may have to wait longer if you want to see a particular GP. If you don't need an appointment
within two working days, you also have the option to book up to one week in advance if this
is more convenient. We operate 10-minute appointments, and all surgeries are by appointment
only.
• Nurses based in our practice treat patients for a wide range of common conditions. You can
expect to see a nurse within one working day.
• Let us know if more than one person in the family needs to be seen. We can give you a longer
appointment if necessary.
• Tell us if you want someone to accompany you during an examination or a private room to discuss
any matters. Remember that the results of tests can only be given to the patient.
• You can book to have a telephone consultation with a doctor. He or she will ring you at an
agreed time on the telephone number you have given. Please contact reception to book
a telephone consultation.
• If you or the person you are accompanying have any special needs, for example sight or hearing
difficulties, please inform the receptionist.
How you can help us:

Out Of Hours Service
Evenings, weekends and Bank Holidays: this service is only for urgent medical problems that cannot wait to be
treated until surgery re-opens. If you are in need of this service you should
call:
0845 145 1800
which will take you directly to the out-of-hours doctor service. You will be
able to speak to an experienced and highly trained operator who will be able
to deal with your problem. They will ask for the following details:
• Your name and contact details
• The name of the person you are calling about if it is not you
• The name of this person’s doctor
• The reason you are calling
Please have these details ready when you call.
The response to your call may involve advice being given over the telephone,
a request for you to attend the Out-of-Hours Centre or occasionally, when the
condition is considered sufficiently severe, the offer of a home visit.
